Hi,
Well the trip is coming along nicely, and many thanks for all the very kind advice. My one stumbling block now appears to be Lucerne. All other suggestions I have followed up on are coming to nothing - either too expensive, too far from the station or just plain full! Apparently there is a music festival in Lucerne until end September, so that's what our problem is! I now realise that Lucerne is really expensive, so have started looking a little out of Lucerne, but don't want to be too far as we have an early start to Zurich airport the day we leave.
Anyone had any experience with the Hotel Kreuz in Malters? Malters looks a very short trip driect from central Lucerne, so would fit the bill fine.
Have tried Stans/Stanstad as well, but no go there either. Don't mind going to somewhere like Horw or other, as long as it's a short trip to Lucerne.
Please help.
